In September 2019 I created this fundraising page: Kristen's Living Legacy I knew that one day soon Ovarian Cancer would take my life. I knew that I would no longer be able to use my voice to raise awareness and funds to make a difference. I wanted to leave something that could continue to grow and have an impact in my honour.
I want to help fund scientific research specifically into my type of cancer, Low-Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer, which is a rarer form of Ovarian Cancer primarily affecting younger women like me.
I know firsthand how crucial research is for survival. There are brilliant researchers out there who need the funding to test out their ideas.

Frozen 2 Movie Fundraiser - December 2019, Brisbane, QLD
In December 2019, we hired out a cinema for the release of Frozen 2.
Frozen is the most precious movie to my sister and I. The first movie came out at the time of my diagnosis 6 years ago, and little did we know, it is a tale the epitomises the bond between sisters and the power of sacrifice and love. With movie ticket sales, plus raffles, the event raised over $2,000. Of course Elsa and I had to dress for the occasion!
Thank you so much to our girlfriends Ally, Elle, Fiona and Helen who did all the legwork to make this happen, and a big thank you to Palace Cinemas New Farm and all of the businesses that donated to the raffle.
Wade's Big Shave - November 2019, Brisbane, QLD
In November 2019, our good friend Wade donated his most prized possession, his 'mo to raise money for my Legacy. Wade had been growing his mo for EIGHT years! He had 3 fundraising goals, $500 too shave his head, $1,000 to wax his chest and $2,000 for the MO TO GO. Wade smashed his fundraising goals, with over $8,000 raised. The mo itself got raffled off for $600.
The shave was held at the Locals Lounge in Coorparoo Square, with local businesses donating prizes and their time to support the cause.
A big thank you to Helen and Wade for oganising the shave, Coorparoo Square for hosting the event, the local businesses for donating raffle prizes and Sense of Taste Coorparoo for running a bar, with all proceeds going to the Legacy.
High Teal Picnic - October 2019, Brisbane, QLD
In October 2019, my best friends Ally, Elle and Helen hosted a fundraiser picnic in New Farm Park.
With raffle tickets and donations, over $1,000 was raised.
